Dr. Deana Marta

Veterinarian

Dr. Marta began dreaming about becoming a veterinarian when she was 5 years old.  She has always felt a deep connection to animals, and from a young age she remembers feeling drawn to them by their innocence, their intuition, and their ability to communicate without words.  Dr. Marta has experienced all aspects of the veterinary world.  Her first job was as a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant when she was in high school.  She then went on to earn her Veterinary Technician License and had several jobs working as a licensed Vet Technician while finishing her prerequisites for Vet School.  She was blessed to have the opportunity to attend Ross University, a vet school on the beautiful island of St Kitts in the Caribbean.  She completed her clinical year at Cornell University, and in 2010, she graduated with Highest Honors, achieving her lifelong goal of becoming a Veterinarian.

Dr. Marta started her career in small animal practice with a deep respect and appreciation for science and the art of veterinary medicine.  Although the daily challenges of solving medical mysteries, performing surgery, and helping pets heal from disease was rewarding, the time constraints of working in a Veterinary Hospital often prevented her from forming meaningful connections with her clients and patients.  She knew that to truly have a positive impact on the lives of pets, she needed to spend more time with them to address all aspects of their physical, social, and emotional health and well-being.  Throughout her 5-year career, Dr Marta found that her true passion lies with preventative medicine and using client education and collaboration to keep pets healthy and maximize their quality of life.  When Dr Marta became pregnant in 2016, she decided to step away from her career in private practice to raise her son and re-evaluate her life’s purpose.

Dr. Marta is now the founder and sole practitioner of Agape Mobile Vet.  She is excited to use her skills, knowledge, and love for animals to provide compassionate, stress-free, in-home wellness care to the surrounding community.  Her relaxed, holistic approach allows her to care for each pet as if it is her own.  She feels blessed to have the opportunity to form lasting relationships with every pet family she works with.  Her goal is to share God’s love (Agape) by helping pets and strengthening the human-animal bond.

Dr. Marta lives in Charlotte with the love of her life, Damian, her rambunctious 5-year-old little boy named Nathan, and 2 rescued dogs; a mutt named “Shyanne” and a black lab named “Chase.”  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, drawing, listening to music, exploring new restaurants, and being outdoors.

Kelly

Vet Assistant

Kelly Werner is a very passionate member of the Agape Mobile Vet team. Living in Charlotte for most of her life, she received a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies, from UNC Charlotte, but soon realized that her passion was to work with animals.
She has always had a deep, empathetic connection with them, which led her to work for many years at a family owned pet shop, caring for all kinds of animals, from birds and fish, to snakes and lizards. She then transitioned to work for many, many years at a boarding/daycare facility, ultimately rising to assistant manger. With health and welfare as her top priority, she was able to care for the dogs as if they were her own. Kelly is very grateful for the opportunity to be apart of the Agape Mobile Vet team. She wants
to share her love and compassion for animals by helping to educate clients on the importance of preventative care as well as an overall healthy lifestyle for their pet.  She loves to spend as much time as she can with her husband Jonathan, her miniature
dachshund, Ruby and her Chihuahua mix, Thomas.

Linda

Scheduler

When you call Agape Mobile Vet, the warm and compassionate voice you hear is likely Linda—Dr. Marta’s mom and the heart of our scheduling team. More than just our friendly receptionist, Linda is a devoted mother, loving “Meemee” to her grandchildren, and an essential part of the Agape family.

When Dr. Marta first launched Agape Mobile Vet, she knew she didn’t want an automated service answering client calls. Instead, she turned to the one person who had always supported her dreams unconditionally—her mom. With a background as a church secretary and a natural gift for connecting with others, Linda stepped in without hesitation.

Linda brings more than just scheduling support, she brings her deep faith, kindness, and warmth to every interaction. Known to offer words of encouragement, or even a heartfelt prayer, over the phone, she reflects the spirit of Agape in every call.

Behind the scenes, Linda continues to be a constant source of love and support. Whether she’s picking up her grandchildren from school, hosting impromptu sleepovers, or helping during Dr. Marta’s busiest days, she embodies selflessness and grace.

Agape Mobile Vet simply wouldn’t be the same without her.
